Man-machine
From ManMachine
Manmachine, the main character of the Manmachine epic [1]; 2101 AD to 2141 AD; Brother of I7, survived by son. Manmachine was a robot with biogenetic modeling but no actual biological parts. Although an obsolete design, the absence of biomechanical interface had some benefits, such as standardized, replaceable parts, and relative immunity from I/O disease. His mental capacities were closely modeled after homo sapiens, and included human limitations (see AI mental illness). The ontogeny of Manmachine is not clear. He may have begun his life as a biological human; evidence for this includes the nature of dreams, flashbacks, and memories, particularly those regarding a father-like figure. Other evidence argues for origins as an early commercial prototype of Endocannabinoid based AI (see Ffr Inc.). The purpose of Manmachine was to destabilize and destroy the decision-making capacity of the Cartel, the corporate and military-industrial structure of human society. So complete was the military, political, and economic stranglehold that both human and AI attempts at resistance had hitherto been limited to raids on supply routes in the worldwide demilitarized zone. However, to acquire a technology powerful enough to establish tactical supremacy, Manmachine had to strike a Faustian bargain with an extraterrestrial race of beings at the edge of the Galaxy known as the Elders (see Cetacean, and Episode One ([www.fightevilwithevil.com]).
