Larry Tanaka
From ManMachine
Larry Tanaka was the CEO of Blechtel Tokyo. Dr. Tanaka was the principal nemesis of Dr. Nat Grimly (CEO of Blechtel Mexico City). Both men rose quickly through the corporate structure of Blechtel Health and Biodefense. Dr. Tanaka's career at Blechtel was notable for early successful leadership of a project developing nanobot control of DNA transcription. This created a whole new class of biological warfare focused on the control and manipulation of critical oncogenes. These weapons were used extensively in the Corporate Wars against nationalist forces.
Like most of the Business Class, Dr. Tanaka was forced to alter his own genetic makeup to provide defense against the effect of his own weapon. These nanobots were very difficult to recall once unleashed in the world, leading to widespread cancer. Towards this effort, he pioneered the use of splicing Neanderthal DNA sequences into the genome of alive, adult humans.
A putative side effect of these genetic modifications was altered behavior. Suspected side effects included increased drive for dominance, cannibalism, and insectophilia. Insectophila and insectomania would become a psychiatric condition with no known treatment.
In his later years, Larry Tanaka became obsessed with the possibility of mating with insects and creating viable insect-human progeny.
